A vota\u00e7\u00e3o foi marcada por intenso debate entre vereadores que defendiam a volta do circuito e os que s\u00e3o contra a apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o das brincadeiras carnavalescas naquele trecho.<\/p>\n<p>A proposta de reativar o circuito Deodoro\/Madre Deus foi apresentada pelo vereador Astro de Ogum (PMN). Em 2006, acatando proposi\u00e7\u00e3o do ex-vereador Abdon Murad (PMDB), foi proibido o desfile de grupos carnavalescos nos trechos que inclu\u00edam as ruas do Passeio, do Norte e S\u00e3o Pantale\u00e3o. A alega\u00e7\u00e3o era que os cortejos da folia atrapalhavam a rotina dos hospitais localizados naquelas vias, a exemplo da Santa Casa de Miseric\u00f3rdia e do Socorr\u00e3o I (Djalma Marques).<\/p>\n<p>A aprecia\u00e7\u00e3o da proposta em plen\u00e1rio foi marcada por um debate acalorado. Al\u00e9m de Astro de Ogum, colocaram-se a favor da reativa\u00e7\u00e3o do circuito os vereadores Chico Carvalho (PSL) e Ubirajara Ramos (PSC), este \u00faltimo com algumas pondera\u00e7\u00f5es. Os tr\u00eas argumentaram que a elimina\u00e7\u00e3o do trajeto trouxe preju\u00edzos ao Carnaval de rua de S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds.
