Sua esposa, Rose, confirmou a not\u00edcia em entrevista ao Jamaica Observer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ela contou que seu marido &#8211; que completaria 82 anos em 23 de fevereiro &#8211; n\u00e3o resistiu aos ferimentos de um acidente de carro ocorrido no dia 16 de fevereiro. O casal estava voltando para casa ap\u00f3s um culto na igreja quando o incidente aconteceu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Sra. Parker tamb\u00e9m ficou ferida e permanece hospitalizada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nascido em Westmoreland, Jamaica, Ken Parker foi um dos muitos vocalistas que surgiram na era do rocksteady, entre 1966 e 1968. Ele gravou v\u00e1rios sucessos para o produtor Arthur \u201cDuke\u201d Reid, no est\u00fadio Treasure Isle, acompanhado pela banda Supersonics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>True, True, True, Jimmy Brown, I Can\u2019t Hide e My Whole World is Falling Down est\u00e3o entre suas m\u00fasicas mais populares. Esses singles fizeram sucesso no Reino Unido, gra\u00e7as \u00e0 distribui\u00e7\u00e3o da Trojan Records, uma gravadora londrina administrada pelo jamaicano Lee Gopthal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para aproveitar essa popularidade, Parker se mudou para o Reino Unido no in\u00edcio dos anos 1970, onde viveu por quase 30 anos e lan\u00e7ou m\u00fasicas de forma independente pelo seu pr\u00f3prio selo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante a d\u00e9cada de 1980, produtores de reggae e dancehall revisitaram sua obra. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O grupo The Tamlins regravou My Whole World is Falling Down para Sly and Robbie, em 1980.
